This free printable gross motor BINGO game is an awesome way to get kids moving – even when you’re on the road!

My kids are always, always, always in the car. We run from practices to lessons to stores. Constantly in and out — constantly moving. When we hit the road for destinations that are further away, I am always looking for activities that will keep them from losing their minds from having to sit still for so long.

The last road trip we took was an 11.5 hour drive from our home in Ohio to the southern part of North Carolina. It was a LONG. DRIVE. I decided it would be fun to come up with a game that would keep them occupied, give them something to look forward to, and keep their muscles limber!

This gross motor activity can be done on short or long trips, in airports, at the train station, or in the middle of the big city. Be creative….you may have to think outside the box to figure out how to perform some of these movements depending on where you are!

What You’ll Need:

What to Do:

Print the gross motor BINGO boards and stash them in the car (or suitcase or your purse!) along with some extra special treats or prizes.

Provide each child with a BINGO board before leaving for your trip. Don’t forget to also pack the call sheet that lists each of the movements (also provided in the printable).

At various times throughout the trip when an opportunity presents itself, pull out the call sheet and give your kiddos a movement to complete. Once they do, they can mark it off of their BINGO card.

The first child to get BINGO wins a prize!!!

How to change it up:

-Some of these movements might be a little difficult for a younger child or a child with gross motor challenges. Feel free to change it up by creating your own BINGO boards.
-Take pictures and collect memories of this BINGO game! Do the movements in front of locations and landmarks that show where you were (a street sign, a state line marker, a rest stop map). This would be so much fun to look back on someday!! Make it a tradition for all of your road trips and travels!
